Small changes can increase the quality of your life and benefit the environment. Recycling is the easiest step to make and reduces the amount of waste added to landfills. Properly disposing of toxic chemicals and batteries helps to keep groundwater free of contaminants. Switching to more energy efficient light bulbs and appliances is both economically and environmentally beneficial. With a small investment of time and money, a garden will reward you with delicious produce and the satisfaction of being more self-sufficient.Didn’t catch that? This explains it.

When remodeling, choosing low-e replacement windows and replacing your heating and cooling system with a more energy-efficient model can increase the value of your home dramatically while lowering your utility bills. Wherever possible, choose materials that are from renewable and sustainable sources. Be aware that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted from many glues, paints, and furnishings; these are often toxic to animals and humans, reduce indoor air quality, and may trigger allergic reactions.

There are literally hundreds of ways to incorporate green living practices into your lifestyle with minimal effort and expense. Walking to the corner-store once in a while will help get you more active and reduce the use of fossil fuels. Small steps such as these will improve the quality of your life and of the planet!

Building an environmentally friendly home is easy when individuals learn what products are available for placement in homes. Green living is becoming a huge part of people-s lives today, more so than recent years. Individuals are more aware of surroundings and want to preserve every aspect including the way they live in their homes.

Individuals help build environmentally friendly homes by installing different features like solar hot water heaters. The sun produces free heat and reduces cost on electric bills all year long. Solar water heaters are a great asset to add to any home and don-t take any longer to heat than normal hot water heaters.

Insulate your house from top to bottom and side to side. Attics and walls without insulation creates drafts and takes the heating and cooling system longer to heat or cool creating a higher electric bill. Insulate with recycled content and fewer chemical emissions to make your home more green efficient.

Install solar panels to reduce using lights. Solar panels enable light to enter the home thus reducing electricity. Sunlight is a natural source of light and free. Natural light helps reduce utility bills. It-s expensive to install but worth the money and effort as years go by. Making your home environmentally friendly is the first step in making your house a home.

Here are some easy fixes for making your home a “greener” place.
Proper Insulation: If you haven’t had an energy audit for your home, now’s a great time to do one. Heating and cooling get expensive and if these elements are leaking anywhere in your house you need to know so you can better insulate.
Plant a Garden: Not only is it good for the air quality, but it’s healthy, too! Your kids will love helping you grow vegetables and you’ll save money and gas by not buying everything from the store.
Install a Tankless Heater: If your hot water heater is on its last legs you’ll want to spring for a tankless heater to replace it. They’re significantly more upfront but in the long run they’ll save you money and do wonders to decrease your carbon footprint. It’s a win win.

Everyday millions of people wake up and get in their cars, buy their morning coffee, and through out the day press their carbon foot print deeper into the world. Thankfully there are a number of things you can do to reduce your imprint and reverse effects that are already occuring. Here are some green ideas that every person on this planet can do to help save this planet and give our children and childrens children a beautiful future.

Save energy in the home. Lowering the thermostat lower or higher then the tempature outside consumes less energy and lowers the bills. Also changing the light bulbs to compact flourescent lights and use a power strip or just unplug all apliances not in use, the amount of energy still being consumed by lights and appliances hugely affect carbon emissions even when not on. Also washing clothes on cold whenever you can because its been shown over 85 of energy used when washing clothes come from heating the water. Shorter showers and changing your showerhead to low flow showerheads reduce the amount of water used, faucet aerators help with water flow but don’t use as much energy for water pressure. Plant drought tolerant plants in your yard that are common to your area. You don’t need to water them as often and they take less minerals from the ground.

We are consumers and as consumers we take in massive amounts of things we could reduce drastically. In 2009, 5.1 billion pounds of polyethylene terephthalate bottles were in existence that were thrown into landfills instead of recycled. Using aluminum water bottles that you can reuse is a smart and money saving must.

If we lived lighter and greener the world can be better. It’s everyones responsibility to keep this planet progressing for a brighter future tomorrow.

When it comes time to remodel your home, why not go green? It will be environmentally friendly and may even save you money in the long run.

There are so many little things you can do to start going green. A kitchen is a great place to start converting your home into a green home. Buy energy efficient appliances. These appliances will run better and save you money and energy in the long run. Compact flourescent lighting are a way to save gobs of energy. The newest bulbs actually save up to 75 more energy. When it comes to replacing your flooring, use a more durable surface. Tile, stone or cork are some great examples.

Water is another source or energy that can be addressed. Consider getting an insulation blanket for your water heater. If you are replacing your water heater, consider a tankless water heater. These water heaters save money and energy as they do not hold water. It offers other advantages, no spills and you do not need to turn it down or off. Use local shrubbery in your landscaping. This will help save water as well. Using non-native shrubbery uses substantially more water as they are not used to the environment.

Today, “green” is in. Environmentalists, and everyday citizens alike, are trying to protect our earth, and make it more sustainable, through the use of green, energy efficient products. For these individuals, one method of helping to save our earth is through recycling. Whether you have newspaper, plastic grocery store bags, beer bottles, coke bottles, or cans of any kind (or other recyclable materials), you should make the effort and try to recycle these materials, rather than just throw them in the trash can.The full explanation can be found at http://alaskaconservationblog.com/2011/07/07/if-i-can-do-it-the-basics/

Today, everywhere you go (schools, supermarkets, shopping malls, businesses, etc) there are recycling recepticals right next to the garbage cans. Therefore, it is a no brainer, and is no extra effort on you, the consumer, to open the recycling can instead of the trash can.

Since society has made it so easy on us to do the right thing, and recycle the products that will harm our environment, why not make that effort and recylce products properly. It really takes no extra effort on your behalf, it is beneficial to the earth (and to you as well), and you will be helping to make things a little better for everyone. So, next time you have to throw out a soda can, simply place it in the recycling bin.

There are many things that we can do to help out our environment on a daily basis. One great thing that we can do to help go green as well as helping out our environment is by planting trees. By planting trees we not only are helping ourselves but we are working with nature to help better it.

There are a couple ways for an individual to plant trees. The first way is to plant the trees from a seed or to transplant a store bought tree. No matter what one individual chooses they are both going green by doing one or the other.

One thing that someone must do before they start to do any planning is by calling a survey company so that they would be able to know where all the underground electrical lines are at. Once these lines are found then one can prepare the soil for either transplanting a plant or ever getting the soil ready to plant the tree seed. If someone lives in a more arid and dry part of the world they would want to make sure that the seed or the transplanted tree gets enough water to be healthy and to grow big and strong.
